Pakistan’s prime minister Imran Khan won the vote of confidence from parliament on Saturday, March 6.
Khan, who needed at least 172 votes to prove confidence of the 341 members’ seats, won 178 votes from the member of the parliament.
Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of the opposition parties led by Maulana Fazalur Rehman, boycotted the vote of confidence.
Khan decided to take the vote of confidence after his party’s prime candidate Hafeez Sheikh lost to former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani during Senate elections last week.
