The night sky over Dubai lit up as drones were used to pay a stunning tribute to the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who passed away last week.

As the Dubai World Cup concluded, the drones took to the skies to form a portrait of the late Deputy Ruler of Dubai, who was the world's longest serving finance minister.

Earlier, during the world cup, Tadhg O’Shea dedicated his win to the late Sheikh Hamdan after triumphing in the Group 2 Godolphin Mile with the Satish Seemar-saddled Secret Ambition.

Godolphin’s Mystic Guide, ridden by Luis Saez, won the $12 million Dubai World Cup on Saturday.
