My kind of weekend - 5 fun things to do around the UAE: Cinema, selfies, speed and more
Drive a F1 car
Dubai Autodrome has added a whole host of new experiences and this one has us raring to go. Driving either their F1 Jaguar 2000 or F1 Arrows 2002 gives you an amazing opportunity to fulfill a lifelong elite racer dream from the driver's seat. The cars' great power-to-weight ratio provides you with outstanding performance and you can enjoy driving cars previously piloted by famous Formula One drivers Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Eddie Irvine. You'll learn the ropes in a Radical Sportscar before being let loose too.
Travel through cinema
Love taking trips? Love independent cinema? Combine the two this summer at Dubai’s Cinema Akil as it looks to book you on a voyage of discovery via the big screen. Cinema Akil Traveller will run from June 26 and will provide a summer-long series of timeless classics and contemporary favourites celebrating the joy of travel. In collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and Front Row Filmed Entertainment, the programme kicks off in Italy through a series of four films starting with Frederico Fellini classic masterpiece La Dolce Vita (1960) and Paolo Sorrentino’s La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty). All screenings taking place at Cinema Akil will be ticketed. Tickets are available for sale on the website www.cinemaakil.com.
