The defeats are a jolt to a full-strength Pakistan side in their preparations for the Twenty20 World Cup
The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) is trialling an AI-powered smart system that will ensure all their taxi and bus drivers are fatigue-free.
The system is expected to "drastically" reduce fatigue-related road accidents.
According to Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAKTA, the ‘Shaheen’ (Falcon) smart system’s camera is fixed in front of both taxi and bus drivers' faces. The system then monitors, reads, and analyses drivers’ facial features, immediately sending an alert to the smart command and control centre if it recognises any signs of fatigue.
“The novel system is also fitted with another device that tracks and records the drivers’ conduct during the trip, spanning speed limits, safe driving, using brakes, sudden diversion, inattentive driving, using mobile phones, and other violations.”
The smart command and control centre analyses the data collected and takes appropriate actions to ensure road users’ safety.
