Abu Dhabi will become home to the first-of-its-kind government academy in the UAE. The launch came during the UAE Government Annual Meetings under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The Abu Dhabi Government Academy aims to boost the efficiency of the government sector in the UAE. The academy aims at preparing highly qualified graduates to increase government efficiency through a number of tailored training programmes for government sector employees in Abu Dhabi.
Four training programmes are to be developed by the Abu Dhabi Government Academy; a general requirements programme, a specialised programme, a corporate programme and future leaders programme. Each programme will focus on a number of key skills necessary to boost government performance.
The academy seeks to establish standard performance evaluation criteria in order to assess professional as well as academic levels of employees in line with their roles in the government.
The academy will be launched in second half of 2018 in partnership with the public and private sector academic institutions in Abu Dhabi. The academy will provide a wide range of training opportunities for employees in all fields making it the most recognised training academy in the emirate.
